There's a festival for every type of music. Yours is out there and you should try to get in it. Music festivals provide pooled (and usually bigger) audiences. Some pay while others pay in street cred ("Hey, we're playing MusicFest this year!"). They're also great places to network, not to mention they're a blast to play. There are a ton of festivals out there for you to get into and plenty of services to help you get connected to them.
