These resources will show you what you need to create an official legal entity (in your state or country). There are many reasons why you'd want to turn yourself or band into a business. Besides memorializing who owns, does, and gets what ($!) within your band, there are other reasons to create a legal entity as well such as handling tax and accounting issues more efficiently and protecting your personal assets from business liability.
