1. Bring extra CDs or merch to your live shows as giveaways.
It's a good idea to always have CDs on hand that you are willing to give away for marketing purposes.
2. Have slips of paper asking for their info.
Before the show, prepare some slips of paper that are printed with spots for names, emails, and contact information.
3. Make the CD giveaway announcement during your set.
During the show, announce to the crowd that you'll choose a lucky winner from a drawing if they just fill out the paper. (And have some helpers hand them out and collect them. )
4. Do a couple of drawings during the show.
Make a big deal about it. People love seeing winners.
5. Enter all of the emails you get into your mailing list system.
