Directions
1. Use the same avatar for all of your profiles.
If you have a mascot, use it to represent your band. Otherwise, you can use a logo. You will be using this avatar image to make it your default profile picture, and keep it consistent for every profile you have. Whenever you change one, make sure to change the others. 2. Make up a tagline that appears on your profile.
Many web presences provide a place for you to put in a quick tagline or fun description of your music. On Facebook and MySpace this tagline space appears right near the profile picture.
3. Write a brief biography or music description.
Some profiles will give you a lot of space for a detailed description, and others will give you just a few lines. Either way: keep it short and simple. Save a lengthy biography for your band's main homepage.
4. Link back to your main webpage.
Nearly every web presence allows you to link to your main page. Make sure that link is easy to find. Also, copy and paste it directly from the URL bar at the top of the page to avoid any spelling errors.
5. End all comments and messages with a signature.
When you make posts or leave comments on some social networks or forums, you can leave a signature or footer at the bottom of each message. This is a great opportunity to promote your band, your homepage, or anywhere people can go to listen to your music.
6. Add your contact information and make it easy to find.
Decide who will be the main contact person and what email address will be used for messages from your social networks. Keep this information consistent from page to page so that all of these messages will be going to the same place.
