Gracenote oversees one of the main databases that matches CDs to the track and artist names. Know when your MP3 player will pull in the track names automatically? It often gets it from this database. If you have a CD of your own, you can insert your CD into the database by using one of the MP3 players that are listed on this website, typing in the tracks when it doesn't come up, and then using the submit button from the MP3 player.
iTunes is one of the players that uses the Gracenote Media database, but you can use their website to get a listing of other players that use it and can insert your CD.
