Full Description

Before undertaking a huge project like recording an album or just playing a gig, there are a lot of things to consider. Although it’s far from the most glamorous job, you must go through all the potential costs as well as figuring how much profit you stand to make. It is really easy to forget an expense that could very well come back to haunt you later.

A site called The Music Business Calculator has designed two different calculators to help you get a good idea your profits and losses for performing a show and making an album from start to finish. More importantly, these guidelines will help you remember oft-forgot expenses like album cover art fees or single-show props.  The album calculator will even give you a prediction of how many albums you need to sell to break even, at both retail and wholesale prices.

No two albums or concerts are alike, so it’s almost certain that you will have a unique cost not listed on these music business calculators.
