Better Tools for Artists and the Music Industry

We put artists directly in touch with music industry professionals and opportunities. We offer really cool (and free) song promotion tools and help artists' get their songs discovered.

Music Xray allows the artist to expose their music to music industry professionals who can offer not only various music opportunities for artists but can also offer services and song critiques. The artist can embed their Music Xray into their website of choice or blog for others to listen to, comment on, fill out a customizable song survey, watch the artist’s video, setup passcodes for users wanting to download the song, track their presence on Twitter, track file shares for their music, track important statistics on MySpace, along with many other features already available in the Music Xray and other features being added and updated.

The three main reasons an artist would want to upload their music to Music Xray:

1. To submit a song to an industry professional. - Submit Your Music

2. To get a Music Xray song presentation package with which to promote their music. - Promote Your Music

3. To put their songs in our search engine. - Get Your Music Found

We also help out the music industry professionals by providing them a platform for accepting songs from artists from their website or blog. We also allow the music industry professionals to post their opportunities on our site and allow them to search through our database of artists.

We also help out the music industry professionals by providing them a platform to allow artists to submit songs for their consideration for critique or review. We provide them their own private drop box with features that make is easy to manage these submissions and communicate back to the artist. When a music industry professional activates a Music Xray drop box the existence of their drop box is automatically added to Music Xray which exposes them to thousands of artists as well. In short, with Music Xray we provide a way for the music industry professionals to get organized submissions for free or for a fee, charge fees if they are offering services, find artists in the Music Xray database and get exposed to thousands of artists.

Simply put we have a platform that allows the artists a much better way to interact with the music industry professionals while also allowing the music industry professionals to be put in direct contact with the artists.

This is taken from their success stories page located http://www.musicxray.com/success-stories Musician Paul Grenier Raves About Music Xray Paul Grenier Headshot Hello all! I've been a MusicXray "customer" for some time now. Probably not far from their conception. I've enjoyed many interactions with professionals of all sorts via Xray and think it's one of the most brilliant concepts on the web today for both budding and established artists to engage professionals as well as the public. I've had many excellent experiences with Music Xray and encourage any songwriter with a great song and recording to give it a whirl. And no... they're not paying me for this haha. I'm just a happy user =) http://www.paulgrenier.com On Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ppgrenier ------------------------------------------------------------- Underride Inks Deal with Rafelson Media Under ride image Seattle band Underride has inked a placement deal for one of their songs with Peter Rafelson of Rafelson Media. Band member Rev writes, "Back in July we test drove musicxray as a referral from our drummer... In short, we hammered out a placement deal with Peter and are excited to begin our partnership with him.... I had been working with [another service] for years with no success whatsoever. In just a month, I connected my music to the industry through musicxray and had a deal on the table. You [guys] RAWK! ------------------------------------------------------------- Rob Thomas' Hit Single "Her Diamonds" Leaks Exclusively Through Music Xray Rob Thomas head crop Her Diamonds This is a perfect case study regarding how to use a Music Xray Song Presentation Pack to build anticipation and release a new single. In March of 2009 Rob Thomas became the first celebrity to pre-leak a major single through Music Xray. The song generated over 5000 listens in just under an hour. Here's how he did it. Before release time, he uploaded his song, entered all the lyrics, his bio information, the song's video and set all the modules so they would track Twitter mentions, blog mentions, P2P traders and other metrics that enabled him so when it was time to launch he would be able to see in real time how the market was reacting to his song as it spread across the web. Then, he set all the modules to "public" EXCEPT the Song Player module and the Video module. Essentially, that meant his fans could see everything - the image, the lyrics, the artist bio, the tracking graphs etc. but the song could not be played and the video could not be seen. Those modules were left "private". His fans started embedding Rob's Music Xray song presentation pack on their blogs and websites all over the Internet and waited patiently for midnight to strike. Finally, at midnight on release day he logged into his Music Xray account and set the Song Player and Video modules to "public" and with the click of his mouse his song went live simultaneously everywhere his fans had embedded the song presentation package. The whole thing set off a firestorm on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. ------------------------------------------------------------- Many Songs Reviewed on Huffington Post One of the opportunities listed on this site is the DotCat Song Blog. The best songs on the blog are often reviewed on The Hufington Post. Here are a few links to reviews: * Melting Pop? This note came in from a satisfied artist a couple days ago so we thought we'd share it: "I received my song review in a timely manner and I am very pleased with the effort Brian put into it. It was critiqued with much attention to detail. It was very obvious that he listened to it carefully and more than once. He offered me BOTH positive and negative feedback which I found encouraging and very constructive. "Constructive because it was detailed, pointing out exact passages that he liked or disliked and why. I don't think any serious and mature songwriter should expect more that that. One thing that we (songwriters) are probably all guilty of this: we have a secret hope that when we submit a song to a producer that he might fall in love with it and produce it immediately with some "larger that life" star. It just doesn't happen that way. If you are looking for professional feedback about your song (both from the point of view of writing and the recording itself), I don't think you will be disappointed with this MIP submission. "I was very pleased..[.] My advice is to spend the $12 and get yourself some unbiased feedback. It will be good for you. If any of you are interested in hearing the song I sent to him, [it is here] there, it is called Everything Is Changing and if you care to communicate with me about it, you can reach me at RachelVogt at verizon.net" Best of luck to you all, Rachel Vogt ------------------------------------------------------------- Rayvon Releases New Single "Back It Up" Exclusively on Music Xray Rayvon back it image We how artists are releasing or even leaking their new material out with a Music Xray Song Presentation Pack. It's one of the best and easiest ways to get your fans to take it viral. They can embed it in their blogs, tweet it, post it on Facebook and track the song's performance. Rayvon is currently best know as the vocal singer on almost all of Shaggy's tracks but now he's got his own deal and he's coming on strong. This is a great track. ------------------------------------------------------------- Rob Guajardo Gets Licensing Deal. Then Gets Publishing Deal Rob Guajardo image Artist Rob Guajardo submitted some of his music to a few industry professionals on Music Xray to get some feedback on how he might be able to improve. He got some great advice but one of those people happened to be Wayne Thompson and Wayne wanted to discuss the placement of three of Rob's songs in a movie Wayne is producing. Rob was excited but realized that he didn't yet have a publishing deal in place so he submitted his music to a few more industry professionals who specialize in publishing and within 48 hours he was in direct conversations with Ken Hatley. And that's the way to make it happen! ------------------------------------------------------------- Jag Star's Song Translated & Released in Spain by Spanish Band Jag star image Jag Star's Does Anybody Know was picked up by a Music Industry Professional operating here on Music Xray and a deal was reached whereby the song was translated, re-produced and performed by Barcelona-based Luces D Neon.
