Brooks & Dunn

Sara John

The legendary duo Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, or Brooks & Dunn as they are better known, will say farewell to the music stage after almost 20 years together. Last year they announced that the Brooks & Dunn 2010 tour will be their last. No more live performances of the great country duo after their final show on August 10 in Nashville. But Brooks& Dunn are not going to go quietly. They are planning a major Las Vegas concert just a day after the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The concert, called The Last Rodeo, will be filmed and will feature the most popular country musicians including Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Sugarland and Lady Antebellum. Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson will also make an appearance. Brooks & Dunn concert will be held on April 19 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be aired on May 23 on CBS.Brooks & Dunn tickets for the event may not be cheap but are definitely worth it. During the all-star The Last Rodeo Brooks & Dunn will receive the Academy of Country Music's Milestone Award in recognition of their record-breaking career. And, indeed, they have had quite a career! During the past twenty years Brooks & Dunn won the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year award every single year between 1992 and 2006 (except for 2000). They have also won numerous Academy of Country Music awards, American Music Awards, and two Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals Grammy Awards for “My Maria” and "Hard Workin’ Man" in 1993 and 1996. Brooks & Dunn Last Rodeo tour kicks off April 23 in Sacramento, California. Their final show in Nashville will be billed as “Brooks & Dunn and Friends.” The “friends” are yet to be announced. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the American Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
