1. Choose a distinctive color palette, fonts, and mascot.
Your band's signature colors should work well together and complement each other. These should also be pantone colors which work well for later creating merch like T-shirts.
2. Create your logo as a line drawing in layered vectorized form for Adobe Illustrator.
Your logo should be a line drawing and not a photo image as that is easier to resize.
3.Render image in GIF and PNG formats.
These formats are more appropriate for line drawings
4. Add the logo to your website under a press section.
Press and bookers should be able to easily find your logo on your site, so they can use it on their sites or for other promotional things like posters.
